Nelson Lee is the President of Green Sky Sustainability Consulting Inc. (www.greensky.ca). He has advised corporations and governments on strategies for improving their sustainability related to environment, health, and safety performance. For the last 18+ years, Nelson has focused on providing climate action services, primarily in GHG mitigation as a GHG verifier with 500 report and offset project verifications completed in AB, BC, SK, ON, Canada, US and EU. He has also conducted climate risk and resiliency assessments and sustainability plans.

Nelson is a member of the CSA Technical Committee (TC 207) on the Environment which is also a harmonized mirror committee that represents Canada’s interests in the development of international standards through the ISO TC 207 / Subcommittee 7 on Climate Change and GHG Management. The committee develops standards at the international and national levels. He is a working group expert on the following standards: ISO 14064 series, ISO 14091, ISO 14097 and ISO 14068.

Nelson has a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta, and a MASc in Environmental Engineering from the University of British Columbia. He was Chair of the Sustainability Committee and Vice Chair of the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and Environmental Professionals Divisions of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC). He is now a member of EGBC’s Climate Change and Sustainability Advisory Group. He is a registered Professional Engineer in BC, AB and SK. Nelson was a Steering team leader in preparing EGBC’s Climate Action Plan which was later incorporated into EGBC’s Strategy.

Faraz’s journey into sustainability is grounded in a deep sense of responsibility toward the environment—one shaped by his faith and the teachings of the Quran, which emphasize stewardship of the Earth and social responsibility. Guided by these principles, Faraz views caring for the planet not as a choice but as an obligation, one that calls for action, no matter how small. This belief has become the foundation of his work: contributing meaningfully to the environment and empowering others to take charge of their own sustainability journeys.

With a background in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering, Faraz has spent his career tackling some of the most pressing challenges in energy and emissions management. He started in the forest products industry—working as a Process Engineer and Energy Engineer at a Kraft Pulp Mill—where he gained a hands-on understanding of industrial processes, energy systems, and emissions reduction opportunities. Later, as an Energy Manager at the municipal level, he expanded his focus to communities, developing energy management strategies that made tangible impacts on both energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions.

As a Certified Energy Manager with years of experience, Faraz has helped industries, municipalities, and businesses take meaningful steps toward sustainability. He has built energy management programs, conducted comprehensive energy audits for industrial facilities and local governments, and guided organizations through the complexities of GHG emissions management. Combining his technical expertise with a strong focus on change management and employee engagement, Faraz ensures that the solutions he delivers don’t just meet immediate goals but create lasting, impactful change. Faraz’s expertise also includes performing third-party GHG verifications across diverse sectors, including pulp and solid wood mills, coal mines, potato processing plants, and oil and gas facilities.

Jonry is a project support professional with over 9 years of experience in the consulting industry, currently transitioning into the field of environmental services after building a strong foundation in engineering services. He has a proven track record in managing complex projects across diverse sectors including Energy and Chemicals, Mining, and Life Sciences, within a global engineering firm. Throughout his career, he has successfully collaborated with multidisciplinary teams across various office settings to ensure the delivery of project outcomes. Driven by a passion for sustainability, sparked by his engineering services experience, Jonry joined Green Sky to further his commitment to environmentally-focused projects. As a Project Coordinator, he will oversee projects from kick-off to completion, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with the project goals. Jonry has completed the Green Sky GHG Verification Training Course & Exam and is actively involved in GHG verifications with the company. Additionally, he holds the Environmental Professional in Training (EPt) designation from Eco Canada, further solidifying his expertise and dedication to advancing sustainable practices.

Issa Hassan has experience on over 100 GHG engagements in Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba. He holds a diploma in GHG Measurement, Reporting and Verification at the GHG Management Institute, where he was trained under ISO 14064 parts 1, 2 and 3 (July 2021), the 2006 IPCC Guidelines and the WBCSD/WRI GHG Protocols. His experience includes preparing corporate GHG quantifications, conducting GHG verifications for sawmills, pulp mills, single and aggregate oil and gas facilities and biogas projects, and preparing mitigation assessments under the Climate Lens Assessment. Trained in LCA from MIT and conducted several studies.

Issa also has seven years of experience in the heavy civil industry, supervising the construction and managing the design of roadways and all its related components, and 5+ years managing green infrastructure and R&D projects in the small-scale manufacturing industry.

Krystel has a B.Sc. in Energy Engineering from the University of Calgary, with experience working as a consultant in building energy performance and auditing. She has a keen interest in sustainability, decarbonization strategies, and energy efficiency and conservation. Krystel has experience with energy simulations, analysis and reporting to meet relevant standards, prerequisites, and compliance requirements, performing site assessments, utility data analysis and reporting for building energy audits, and completing GHG verifications and Clean Fuel Regulations project work. Farooq has more than 20 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environment management for oil & gas and manufacturing sectors. He has been working as GHG verifier since October 2022 and has experience with 100+ GHG verification projects in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. He has developed Climate Action & Resilience Management System for effective and systematic implementation of climate change risk management strategies in the company. He has also worked on GHG inventory verification projects against US EPA MRR.

Prior to verification work, he led and managed health, safety and environment functions for refinery and petrochemical storage terminal during construction, commissioning, and operations phases in Pakistan. He has worked as head of EHS for Toyota passenger car manufacturing plant and Hino commercial vehicle manufacturing facility in Pakistan. Farooq has also led the ISO-9001, ISO-14001, and OHSAS-18001(ISO-45001) certification and implementation for refinery, petrochemical terminal, oil and gas exploration and production company, Toyota, and Hino during the past years. He has actively worked for energy and water conservation projects, VOC and hazardous waste reduction, and wastewater treatment for various companies.
